The event held in Dewan Serbaguna LLM in Kajang started early in the morning as the participants arrived as early as 8.30am on the Sunday morning. Among the companies which participated in this tournament include the likes of LLM, SMART Tunnel, PLUS Malaysia, DUKE Highway, Touch n GO, ANIH, UEM Edgenta and Grand Saga.

In the group stage, the contingent was drawn into the same group as DUKE Highway and SKVE Highway. The first match against DUKE resulted in a close 3-2 loss, with the two wins coming from the men’s Double pair of Haron & Halim and women’s double Pair of Rahayu and Aina. The following match against SKVE saw our contingent triumphing with a 4-1 score, thus advancing into the quarter final stages.

The excitement continued into the afternoon as the sudden-death round commenced after 2.30pm. After finishing second place in the earlier group stages, UEM Group was drawn against SMART Tunnel. The 3-0 loss to SMART Tunnel definitely did not reflect the blood, sweat and tears being brought onto the table as we were clearly the underdog in this match.
